The Nigeria National League (#NNL) has confirmed that Referee Ayanleye Mayowa Daniel will officiate today’s highly anticipated NNL Conference A clash between Smart City FC and Inter Lagos FC.
“Mayor Amiable” as he’s fondly called is a member of the Oyo State Referees Council and he’s regarded as one of the most respected referees in the Nigerian football circuit. Known for his firm but fair approach, Ayanleye brings a wealth of experience and authority to the pitch, having consistently upheld high officiating standards across various league levels.
Assisting him in this encounter are Adebisi Adeyemi from Oyo State Referees Council (AR1), Onaolapo Adeyemi also from Oyo State Referees Council (AR2), and Olagbenjo Michael O. from Lagos State Referees Council (RR).
Additional, the officiating team will be working with Raji Kamorudeen Toyin, the Referee Assessor and together they are expected to form a competent officiating team for what promises to be an intense encounter.
So far this season, Mayowa has taken charge of two NNL matches — First Bank’s goalless draw with Ọ̀sun United and Beyond Limit’s narrow 1-0 win over Inter Lagos — both handled with the professionalism fans have come to associate with him.
Outside the football pitch, Mayor Amiable is a multi-talented individual. He’s not only a certified referee but also a lecturer, musician, and accountant. He holds a B.Sc and M.Sc in Accounting and he’s currently pursuing his PhD in the same field. He also serves as the Training Officer of the Akinyele Football Referees’ Society under the Oyo Football Referees’ Council.
His presence in today’s match is expected to bring credibility and composure to what is shaping up to be a fiercely contested Lagos derby.
