Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, has called on Christians and non-Christians alike to embrace the spirit of Easter by being their brother’s keeper and upholding the values of sacrifice, unity, and discipline.
In his Easter message, Aluo emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in building a stronger and more efficient football league in Nigeria. He urged clubs and stakeholders to commit themselves to the growth of the NNL by adhering strictly to the rules and contributing positively to its development.
“Christians and everyone should be willing to sacrifice for the development of a better league,” he said. “The clubs should not forget that it takes all hands to be on deck and a great deal of patience to run a good league.”
Aluo stressed that following the rules and maintaining discipline are vital steps toward progress, adding that such commitment will help the league gain greater credibility and recognition.
“Let the teachings of Easter the death and resurrection of Jesus remain a great lesson for us all,” he noted. “Above all, I wish everyone the best of a new life and fresh beginnings this Easter”.
