NNL/PROSTAR December 2024 Awards: Ebrima, Ejeh Others Shine

The Nigeria National League (NNL) and PROSTAR have announced the winners of their monthly awards for December, 2024.

Utum Godswill Solomon, of Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi Football Club took home the Best Goalkeeper award, the goal tender who is 7.1 feet in cm having kept a clean slate in four matches.

Ebrima Manneh of Sporting Supreme Football Club of Abuja was the standout player, winning both the Highest Goal Scorer and Most Valuable Player awards. The sixteen year old Ebrima nicknamed “Val” scored four goals in four matches and was named Man of the Match (MOT) in two games.

Forty five year old Coach Okechukwu Ejeh(Aka Mourinho) of Abia Comets Football Club was named Best Coach after remaining unbeaten in four games, including two away victories.

Smart City Football Club of Lagos(Ultimate good Faith), was awarded the Best Behave Team, having received no cautions throughout the month.

Momoh Camara of the Nasarawa State Referees Council was recognized as the Best Referee of the month, sponsored by the NNL live streaming partners SPORTS LIGHT HUB

These awards are in recognition of outstanding performances, in the efforts of the NNL and PROSTAR commitment in promoting excellence in Nigerian football.

The awardees are the first set of recipients of the newly introduced NNL / PROSTAR monthly award for the 2024 /2025 season.

The awards will be presented to the recipients on Wednesday 22 January, 2025 at the NNL Secretariat, Glass House Wuse Zone 7 Abuja by 11 am

Heartland FC Bolster Squad with Udemobong signing

Owerri-based Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) outfit, Heartland FC, has completed the signing of skilled left winger, David Isaac Udemobong, on a one-year deal.

The talented player, who joins from Dakkada FC on a free transfer, brings versatility and creativity to Heartland FC’s attack. Udemobong’s ability to play as an attacking midfielder will provide valuable depth to the team.

Prostar matchballs to be used for new season

Following the official Kit Partnership Agreement between the Nigeria National League and Prostar Recreational Services Ltd, we are pleased to inform you that we have received the NNL/Prostar official match balls for the 2024/2025 League season.

The official Match balls shall be the only allowed match balls at all NNL matches within the span of the Kit Partnership Agreement.

All clubs are entitled to 10 free balls. However, to benefit from this gesture, every participating club shall
purchase at least 10 Prostar balls for the period of the agreement with the league.
Payment for the balls shall be made to Prostar Recreational Services account and receipt of payment forwarded to the Secretariat.

NNL Seeks collaboration to open potentials through football

The Nigeria National League (NNL) Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Director General and Chief Executive Officer ,Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN),Dr.Mustapha Abdullahi seeking to partner with the Commission on areas of mutual consent.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Most Important League,Emmanuel Attah who led the NNL delegation to the central Area office of the Commission in Abuja ,thanked President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ,Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu for appointing a youth a validation of his policy agenda on Youth empowerment .Dr Mustapha Abdullahi as the new Director General and Chief Executive of the Energy Commission of Nigeria.

The NNL Chieftain also expressed huge trust words on the Honourable Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology,Chief Uche Nnaji to deliver on his mandate and for having a young vibrant DG/CEO in the Energy Commission of Nigeria to work with .

Attah said ECN collaborating with NNL will mean helping to develop more of the Nigerian Youths who ply their trade in the league with forty clubs across the country.

“We have great percentage of the Nigerian youths who have taken football as their career and with the ECN collaborating with NNL many of our footballers and sports men would be energized and their career better shaped’

The ECN Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Dr .Abdullahi assured the NNL of it’s desire to collaborate with NNL according to him,
“We are particularly excited with the development of many youths engaged by the NNL,it is a great nation building effort,we are committed,we accept the offer of collaboration and hope to make the most of it”
“We are encouraged and want to encourage NNL,I and my team will see to it that this works,we have a lot to benefit the nation with projects like the NNL and I am already seeing the potentials in the league”

The highpoint of the courtesy visit by the NNL to the ECN was the presentation of proposal for collaboration by the NNL CEO Mr.Attah to the ECN Director General /Chief Operating Officer.

The NNL CEO also used the occasion to present NNL customized T-Shirts,Face cap and Ball to the ECN big gun.

League Kickoff extended

The board of Nigeria National League has announced the postponement of the kick off date of the 2023/2024 league season to a yet to be announced date.

The league originally planned to kick off on Saturday 28 October but has been compelled according to now postponed the commencement to enable clubs conclude registration for the new season.

The NNL board in arriving at the decision took into cognizance the inability of teams to meet up with the Wednesday 25, October registration deadline because of the economic situation facing the country.

Chairman of the NNL board George Aluo speaking to NNL media said ” We regret to announce that the 2023/2024 league season originally planned to kick off this Saturday at the Uyo Township Stadium, Akwa Ibom state has been postponed to a new date which will be communicated to teams once clubs finish formalization of registration process”

The Chairman hinted further that with the latest development, clubs are now advised to ensure they conclude their registration on November 3, 2023 ,noting that once registration is concluded, the board of NNL will announce a new date for the commencement of the league.

He declared that the teams however, have been warned that failure to meet up with the new registration date means non participation in the league. Top of Form
